Scholarship Program
ACS Scholars: For the past few years, CM&E has donated funds to this fine American Chemical Society Program. Our Scholar, Meagan Driver (New York University), has attended a number of recent luncheons. Mary Bet Dobson, Assistant Director, Development at ACS shared this recent note from Meagan:
"This semester I am taking General Physics I, Organic Chemistry, Chemistry I with lab, and two required courses (Archaeology and African Diaspora). Of course, orgo is my favorite so far! I finished last year with 3.8 GPA and an A/A- average. I guess what excites me most about my coursework is that I am building on my knowledge on chemistry so much, since I know that I want to enter the field. The CM&E luncheons are a great way to see what is going on in the business of chemistry. At school, I don't really have access to most of the info I get at the luncheons. I have also met many interesting people at these meetings and had the opportunity to ask questions about their schooling and work experiences. It gives me ideas for what I might want to do.”
As we approach the holiday season, can we count on your personal support for the ACS Scholars Program as a year-end gift? If so, please contact Mary Bet directly at the address below and mention that you are a CM&E member:
