Speaker: Fred Peterson is President of Probe Economics LLC, a chemical industry economic consulting firm established in 1976. Fred specializes in the use of models and other quantitative techniques to forecast world chemical markets and to advise clients on strategy and tactics. He directs Probe's business research and consulting operations, and is the principal author of the firm's monthly Chemical Outlook and its annual Price Forecasting publications.
He was an Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Maryland, an Instructor (Preceptor) at Princeton University, a Senior Staff Economist with the President's Council of Economic Advisers, a Staff Economist with the President's Council on Environmental Quality, a Sales Representative with Stauffer Chemical Co,, and a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy.
Dr. Peterson has testified on international trade matters before the U.S. International Trade Commission. He serves as Guest Lecturer in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Cornell University. Fred has a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Economics from Princeton University.
